Notre Dame Women’s NCAA Basketball Coach at the Final Four
Hall of FAME Coach Muffet McGraw at Pre-Final Four WWB NCAA Press Conference
“How are these young women looking up and seeing someone that looks like them, preparing them for the future? We don’t have enough female role models. We don’t have enough visible women leaders. We don’t have enough women in power. Girls are socialized to know, when they come out, gender roles are already set. Men run the world. Men have the power. Men make the decisions. It’s always the men that is the stronger one.”
Notre Dame Basketball Coach Muffet McGraw isn’t holding back! She made clear during an interview about her methods and theory of coaching that she has no intention of hiring men coaches for the teams she oversees.
Why? you ask. Doesn’t that go against the whole drive for diversity and equality, to deny deserving men an equal opportunity to coach girls? OR, could there be a bigger, more pressing issue at stake? We’ll let Muffet speak for herself!
And, BTW, Muffet doesn’t just talk about celebrating women’s achievements! She has been known to kick up her (high) heels and dance a jig when the Irish Women win a game….
